A beautiful dish created by talented Ceramicist Maz Balaam, in the Forest of Dean.
Each soap dish is individually crafted by Maz, from white earthenware clay, ideal for capturing pressed lavender from the Forest of Dean. Once shaped and dried, the dish is bisque fired, then hand-finished with oxides and pigments worked into the surface to highlight its texture and pattern. The excess is carefully wiped back, revealing subtle contrast and depth. Then coated with a clear glaze to enrich the colours. A second firing completes the process - with every piece shaped by heat, time and a bit of kiln magic!
